Dear Friends,

Starting in September I am making myself available for revivals, and
family life seminars in churches. God has laid upon my heart to do all
that I can to help see revival come to our nation. This year I will
turn sixty and that means that I am heading into the fourth quarter of
my life. I have experienced thirty years of ministry and by God's
grace I would like to finish out this last quarter with reaching as
many souls for Christ as I can. Would you please keep me in your
prayers as I trust the Lord and follow His direction. I will have to
be at my church on Sunday morning and I will have to limit the number
of meetings to around twenty a year. You can get my press release by

New Bible Lesson on the Net

From Our Pastor

Dear Friends in Christ,

We have now completed our sixth year on the internet and beginning our
seventh year. In 1998 I was impressed to begin this daily devotion and
now after all these years we are reaching the masses. We began with
fifteen names and now we are linked to hundreds of sights including
military bases and just about every country. Thank you for allowing me
to come into your home or office daily. This year we will begin
another study and I hope that you will find it to be rewarding. We
will start in Genesis and end in Revelation. If you should come across
any illustrations that will help in our study please e-mail them to
me. I really would like for you to participate in this daily devotion.
I will also keep you up to date with what I hear from the front.
Please remember to send your prayer request and then your answers to

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness:

Daily Scripture Reading through the Bible in one year

Jeremiah 28:1-29:32

1 Tim. 1:1-20 (KJV)
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our
Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; [2] Unto Timothy,
my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father
and Jesus Christ our Lord.
[3] As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into
Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other
doctrine, [4] Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies,
which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in
faith: so do. [5] Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a
pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: [6] From
which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; [7]
Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they
say, nor whereof they affirm. [8] But we know that the law is good, if
a man use it lawfully; [9] Knowing this, that the law is not made for
a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly
and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and
murderers of mothers, for manslayers, [10] For whoremongers, for them
that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for
perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to
sound doctrine; [11] According to the glorious gospel of the blessed
God, which was committed to my trust. [12] And I thank Christ Jesus
our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful,
putting me into the ministry; [13] Who was before a blasphemer, and a
persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it
ignorantly in unbelief. [14] And the grace of our Lord was exceeding
abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. [15] This is a
faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came
into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. [16] Howbeit for
this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew
forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter
believe on him to life everlasting. [17] Now unto the King eternal,
immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever
and ever. Amen. [18] This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy,
according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by
them mightest war a good warfare; [19] Holding faith, and a good
conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made
shipwreck: [20] Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have
delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Psalm 86:1-17 (KJV)
A Prayer of David.
Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy. [2]
Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that
trusteth in thee. [3] Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee
daily. [4] Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do
I lift up my soul. [5] For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive;
and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. [6] Give
ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my
supplications. [7] In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for
thou wilt answer me. [8] Among the gods there is none like unto thee,
O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. [9] All
nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O
Lord; and shall glorify thy name. [10] For thou art great, and doest
wondrous things: thou art God alone. [11] Teach me thy way, O Lord; I
will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. [12] I will
praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy
name for evermore. [13] For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou
hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. [14] O God, the proud are
risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after
my soul; and have not set thee before them. [15] But thou, O Lord, art
a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous
in mercy and truth. [16] O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give
thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
[17] Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and
be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

Proverbs 25:17 (KJV)
Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of
thee, and so hate thee.

(1 Corinthians. 6:12–20)

He was young. Good-looking. And he ardently challenged Billy Graham in
a question/answer period after the evangelist's televised talk to
college students. Why all this fuss about sex? If a person is hungry,
he eats a ham sandwich, doesn't he? If he feels the urge, why not have
sex and satisfy that hunger?
The question, though I saw the program about 25 years ago, reflects
our society's blatant move toward pagan sexual standards. It also
reflects the attitude of some Christians in Corinth, whom Paul quoted
as he returned in these verses to the question of immorality.
"Everything is permissible for me," Paul himself said of food choices
(v. 12; cf. Rom. 14:14). And "God will destroy" this sinful body and
replace it in the resurrection (1 Cor. 6:13). Why make such a big deal
about what a person does with this meaningless ol' body anyway?
Paul's threefold response answered the question about sex and
sandwiches as well as the Corinthians'. That casual pagan attitude
toward sex fails to see that the body is important. The body is meant
for the LORD, as a tool through which He performs righteous acts (v.
13; cf. Rom. 6:16–18). The body is important enough that God has
determined to resurrect it (1 Cor. 6:13–14). The body is even now
joined to Jesus Christ through our spiritual union with Him. Can we
take Christ to visit a prostitute? (vv. 15–17)
In paganism, sex really is trivial. The casual attitude, the
adolescent snickers, even the heated passion that constantly leers
from movie screen and TV tube, all suggest that sex and sandwiches are
on a par. Only Christianity affirms that life here on earth has more
significance, and that our bodies were created for higher purposes.
Our bodies are temples of God's Spirit. Our bodies are instruments
for His use. Our bodies—all we are and have—were bought with a price.
We Christians are determined to use our bodies only to glorify Him.

Personal Application
Sex isn't trivial, because you and your body are special to the LORD.

"Sex has become one of the most discussed subjects of modern times.
The Victorians pretended it did not exist: the moderns pretend nothing
else exists."
Fulton J. Sheen

Your Family Devotions Are Important

Twelve convincing reasons for having family devotions:

It unifies the family and sweetens home life.
It cultivates the Christian graces and relieves tension and
misunderstanding that sometimes threaten the fellowship of the home.
It aids our boys and girls in becoming Christians, and helps them to
develop ideals that guide them in vital Christian living.
It yields spiritual resources for daily tasks and assists us in
cultivating dependence upon God.
It strengthens us in the face of adversities and disappointments and
enables us to trust Christ implicitly in all of life's circumstances.
It makes us conscious during the day of the abiding presence of our
Savior and Frie nd.
It bears a Christian witness to the guests in our home.
It under girds the Christian teaching of the Sunday School and the
ministry of the church.
It affords opportunity for the Christian family to pray for and to
sharpen its concern for non-Christian families.
It helps us to give a right place to spiritual values and saves us
from an undue concern for the temporal things of life.
It encourages us to put Christianity into practice in our homes.
It honors God and provides an excellent outlet for the expression of
our gratitude for the abundance of daily mercies and blessings which
come from Him.

THIS ONE IS FABULOUS!!! It was written by an 8-year-old named Danny
Dutton, who lives in Chula Vista, CA. He wrote it for his third grade
homework assignment, to "explain God". I wonder if any of us could
have done as well?

"One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace
the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of
things on earth. He doesn't make grownups, just babies. I think
because they are smaller and easier to make. That way he doesn't have
to take up his valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can
just leave that to mothers and fathers."

"God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful
lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things,
pray at times beside bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the
radio or TV because of this. Because he hears everything, there must
be a terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way
to turn it off."

"God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which
keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting his time by going
over your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you
couldn't have." "Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I
don't think there are any in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any
who come to our church."

"Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking
on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who
didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of him
preaching to them and they crucified him But he was good and kind,
like his father, and he told his father that they didn't know what
they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K."

"His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his
hard work on earth so he told him he didn't have to go out on the road
anymore. He could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he helps his dad
out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for
God to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without
having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important."

"You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because
they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time." "You
should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and
if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God!

Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like
going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come
out at the beach until noon anyway."

"If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be
very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like
to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're
scared, in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into
real deep water by big kids."

"But.. you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I
figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases.

And...that's why I believe in God."
